Welcome to Stone Accents Studio’s
SASy Layout Design Challenge

My name is Candee (aka CanDesigns) and I’m very excited to be your hostess for this challenge during
SAS’s 1st Anniversary Celebration.

Once you read how EASY and fun this month long challenge is and how many goodies you’ll receive along the way, you’re going to be jumping for joy yourself!!

Let me ask you this.
Do you feel your finished layouts are absolutely outstanding and perfect in every way, or do you look at others and wonder why you can’t EVER get your layouts to look that good? If you’re like most of us, you’ve put yourself into that second category, wishing you had the talent that every other layout artist has - except you. I’m here to tell you that that’s a “load of bunk” as my father would say. You CAN be as FaBuLoUs as the scrappers that seem to have a natural talent, and you’re likely not as untalented as you think you are. You just need a little bit of encouragement and a little bit of education to learn the tricks of the trade.

~~And that’s what this challenge is all about~~

Consider the next 4 weeks as Layout School – without the boring teacher of course . I’m going to help you learn the Principles of Design that really savvy scrappers already know. With the help of the SASy Design and Creative Teams – and each other – by months end you’ll be knocking out amazing layouts and wowing your friends and family with your talents.

Here is how this challenge will work. Each week starting midnight on Sunday, September 7th CST, I will give you a specific type of layout to create using your own photos and supplies. I’ll direct you to a tutorial right here in SAS to teach you the design principles you’ll need to create the fabulous layout you want to design for this week’s challenge. When you’re satisfied with your layout, you’ll post it to this gallery HERE, and the SAS designers and creative team members will begin to leave you “CC’s” – constructive criticism – with suggestions on how they feel your layout can be improved upon using the Principles of Design.

You then will have the opportunity to change your layout according to their CC’s (or not) and repost it again in the same gallery. Then the process repeats, you can change your layout as often as you like until you’re happy with it until the following Saturday at midnight CST. By then your finished layout must be posted to the Judging Gallery, and the members of the judging committee will each choose their favorite three layouts for that week. NO ONE will ever be disqualified, and it’s up to you if you want to use the CC’s to change your layout or not. The layouts with the most votes will be announced and the top three winners for that week will receive a kit made just for them by an SAS designer!!!

On Sunday once again, the next challenge will be posted and this process repeats each week for 4 weeks. By contest’s end, we’ll have 12 winners in the winner’s circle (3 each week) and the entire scrapping community is then invited to vote for their favorite layout. In the event of a tie, the design team will step in and choose one winner of the GRAND PRIZE for this challenge.

That lucky winner will receive a coupon from EVERY SASy designer with a total prize value over $100 worth of yummy scrapping goodness!!!

Throughout the challenge entrants will receive little goodies designed specifically for this contest from the SAS design team. Those will be given out at random intervals, and no one will be left out. And – here’s the kicker – EVERY single scrapper entered into the contest will receive an enormous collaboration kit at the end of the challenge just for playing along!!! It’s over 300mb and absolutely gorgeous. So as you can see, everyone walks away a winner!! Everyone gets a prize, some will get one of a kind kits and little challenge perks, not to mention all that you’ll learn so YOU can be the very best Layout Designer that you can be!!!

Full intructions for each challenge will be given on separate threads, as will a question & answer thread. This is just a basic overview of the contest AND your invitation to join in the fun!!!

Sounds like a lot of fun! I think I want to try to play, if life will let me manage to scrap...not been doing to much of that lately, but would love to try. I do have a question, is there going to be any requirements as to what kits to use, or is it just any ol kit we happen to have laying around?
